We were so pleased to welcome Sara and Sam from the Visual Impairment Team last week, who came in to extend the whole teams knowledge on Cerebral Vision Impairment (CVI). CVI is a vision difficulty that occurs when the brain has trouble making sense of what the eyes see. It’s an umbrella term for a range of visual differences that come from the brain rather than the eyes.
Sharing this information gave our team valuable insight into what a child with CVI might experience day to day, alongside practical ways to adapt our environment and approach to support learning. This helps ensure children are given the best possible opportunity to develop new skills in ways that work for them.
Opportunities like this sit at the heart of our work continually building on our specialist knowledge so we can offer thoughtful, informed and high-quality support for every child and family we work with.
Thank you Sara and Sam, see you soon!
