We were incredibly proud to be recognised at this year’s Westbury Town Council Civic Awards.
This meaningful event celebrates people and organisations who make a positive difference in their community, so it was a real honour for Stepping Stones to be included.
“We feel incredibly proud to be recognised in this way. Supporting children and families across West Wiltshire is at the heart of everything we do, and it means so much to see that work valued here in Westbury. We always love it when Jane pops in to visit, and we’ve really enjoyed getting to know the Westbury community even better—everyone has been so welcoming and supportive.”
As a charity, we support children, families and early years settings across West Wiltshire, including many in Westbury. Being recognised in this way by the local community means a great deal to us, and it’s a reminder of the importance of working together to support children and families at the earliest stage.
We were especially delighted to share the occasion with Mayor Jane Russ, who has chosen Stepping Stones as her Charity of the Year for two consecutive years. Jane has been a genuine and consistent supporter of our work. Whether she’s starting off a Sunday morning bike ride, drawing raffle winners, or joining us at events, she always makes time to show her encouragement for our children, families and team.
Her support has helped raise awareness of the work we do for Westbury families and the growing need for specialist early years support. Having someone so committed standing alongside us makes a real difference.
We were also in inspiring company on the night. Fellow award recipients included seven-year-old Allegra Lang, recognised for her enthusiasm in supporting litter picks and local events, and Lynne Vercoe, honoured for her long-standing contribution to the community, including organising sewing days to create reusable sanitary products for those in need.
Moments like this are a chance to reflect on the strength of community and the difference people can make when they come together.
Thank you to Westbury Town Council and to everyone who continues to support Stepping Stones.
