COVID-19 UPDATE

Hello to all of our Stepping Stones Parent/Carers,

I hope this message finds you and your family safe and well.

Stepping Stones has, like many Early Years settings, been carefully planning towards the phased opening of sessions for children who may wish to attend sessions at Stepping Stones from June.

Our priority has been and remains keeping everyone as safe as possible by ensuring that we minimise the risk of anyone contracting or spreading Corona Virus. To do this Stepping Stones will follow Government Health advice by implementing protective measures which will include

  • Working towards a phased return of sessional support

  • Session days and times being changed to enable safer staggered drop off and collection times

  • Session spaces being reduced to enable smaller groups of children

Stepping Stones are proud to support children and families from across the West Wiltshire Community. Stepping Stones children also usually attend many other Early Years settings across Trowbridge, Westbury, Warminster, Bradford on Avon, Melksham and the surrounding villages. In keeping with Government advice that children should only mix in a small consistent group we will only offer space in session to children who will not be attending any other childcare provision.

We are aware of many parents sharing concern over the decision to return or not to any childcare provision. Let me reassure you that we will continue to provide advice and support for those who choose for their child to remain at home or to attend their local nursery.

We will be speaking with each of you to discuss individual needs and the options available to you.

Stay safe and Stay well

Debbie

Stepping Stones is an Opportunity Group for children with special needs in the West Wiltshire area. “Special Needs” being the term we use for identifying children who will benefit from specific therapy and support to help meet their potential. Children from birth to five, with varying levels of need attend the group. Stepping Stones operates as the District Specialist Centre for West Wiltshire.

Parents are welcome to contact us directly, but most children have been referred to Stepping Stones by a Paediatrician, Health Visitor or other professional.

Children come here to have a fuller assessment of their needs and to be helped and encouraged to learn and develop through play.
