Hello everyone,

I hope that you and your family remain safe and well.

This week has seen a return to sessions for children and the Stepping Stones team.

In following best practice we have now successfully implemented a range of changes and protective measures to help keep everyone in our environment safe and to reduce the risk of spreading and contracting Covid 19. Amongst these are:

  • Only children who do not attend other childcare settings have been offered a space in session.
  • Session days and times have been changed to enable safer staggered drop off and collection times
  • Session spaces have been reduced to enable smaller groups of children
  • Staff teams and children are only mixing in individual small consistent groups, (bubbles)
  • Every member of the team has completed Prevent Covid19 Awareness training and continues to follow Government and health care advice and guidance.

To date, 24 children will now be attending Stepping Stones across each week and we are delighted to be back working directly with children. We will be continuing to provide support through phone calls and Tapestry to all Stepping Stones children and families who are not planning on returning to sessions at this time.

We will continue to review our service provision in response to both changes in Government and Health advice and changing local needs. Please do not hesitate to contact Stepping Stones if you require any information, support and advice.

Stay well and Stay safe

Stepping Stones is an Opportunity Group for children with special needs in the West Wiltshire area. “Special Needs” being the term we use for identifying children who will benefit from specific therapy and support to help meet their potential. Children from birth to five, with varying levels of need attend the group. Stepping Stones operates as the District Specialist Centre for West Wiltshire.

Parents are welcome to contact us directly, but most children have been referred to Stepping Stones by a Paediatrician, Health Visitor or other professional.

Children come here to have a fuller assessment of their needs and to be helped and encouraged to learn and develop through play.
