Dual Placement Consultation

We are currently considering our session planning for January 2021. As many of you know due to the pandemic, at the moment we are only accepting children who do not attend other settings. As part of our commitment to adapting our service provision to meet local requirements we are reviewing

*The potential demand from parents and settings for children to attend dual placements from January 2021

*The potential requirements of effective and collaborative risk assessments

*The potential impact of change to existing childcare arrangements for all.

If any of these issues effect you either as a parent/carer or as an early years setting please use the link below to have your say.

Welcome back to Stepping Stones Term 2

We hope that you are well and have enjoyed the half term break.

While Covid 19 continues to impact on many arrangements and plans we would like to reassure you that Stepping Stones intends to continue to offer weekly sessional support, outreach support and assessment provision.

To keep everyone safe whilst providing a valued service we will

  • Continue to offer space in session only to children not attending another childcare setting for the remainder of 2020.
  • Consult with families and all service users and providers to assess potential requirements and demand for dual placements from January 2021
  • Offer those families not currently accessing sessions at Stepping Stones our continued support and our colleagues in early years settings any Outreach required.

Our priority is to provide a safe environment for the children who attend Stepping Stones and those who provide specialist support for them. Thank you for all of your support in working with us to reduce the risk of spreading and contracting Covid 19 and please continue to follow the protective measures we have put in place.

We will continue to review and update you on any changes to arrangements as required. Please contact us if you have any queries.

We are looking forward to supporting you and your children this Autumn.

Stay well and Stay safe

Debbie and all of the Team at Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones is an Opportunity Group for children with special needs in the West Wiltshire area. “Special Needs” being the term we use for identifying children who will benefit from specific therapy and support to help meet their potential. Children from birth to five, with varying levels of need attend the group. Stepping Stones operates as the District Specialist Centre for West Wiltshire.

Parents are welcome to contact us directly, but most children have been referred to Stepping Stones by a Paediatrician, Health Visitor or other professional.

Children come here to have a fuller assessment of their needs and to be helped and encouraged to learn and develop through play.
