Rights of the Child

Stepping Stones acknowledges our duty to promote and uphold the rights of every child as defined by the United Nations Convention. There are 54 articles describing children’s human rights and how adults can work together to uphold these rights. For example:

Article 23 – We will work in partnership with others to enable each child to access the education, care and support needed to lead a full and independent life to the best of each child’s ability.

Article 3 – We will work to ensure that whenever adults make decisions or do anything that affects each child they should always think about what is best for each child.
